Seafarer Cat 1 and Cat 2 - needed for work on High speed craft. Start date - as soon as possible for the Summer season Key Responsibilities: • Load and discharge Car Deck under supervision of Chief Officers and Bosun. • Keep a Bridge Watch & Car Deck Security Watch as assigned by Bosun. Take Helm when required by Master (or OOW) in the event of fog, auto pilot failure etc or any other time when the master or (OOW) considers it appropriate. All Cat 1/Cat 2 seamen are required to be in procession of a ‘Steering Certificate.’ In order that the seafarer retains competence in this area of his/her duties; it is recommended that one Port entry/departure should, where practible, be undertaken at periods not exceeding 3 months. Entries and departures as well as steering hours should be logged in p55 of MNTB Deck Ratings Training Record Book. • General duties i.e. washing down, maintenance, cleaning, painting, refuse collection. • Storing vessel. • Assist ERA as required. • Security of vessel at sea and in Port. • Assist passengers as required, paying particular attention to disabled passengers. • Assist with all Seamen/Steward (Cat 3 Seafarer) duties as directed. • On joining, the ------ must board the vessel at the rostered time, or immediately on the vessels arrival. • All Seamen are to take instructions from the Bosun (except whilst assigned to cabin duties). • Assist with Daily Inspection Checklist duties. • On passage Category 1 and Category 2 Seafarers to carry out their duties as directed by the Bosun. The Category 3 Seafarers to work in the cabin under the direction of the Cabin Manager, unless required by the Chief Officer for special duties. • Assist Cabin Services as required. • Ensure mess room is thoroughly cleaned before arrival. • Whilst loading / unloading, to carry out duties as directed by the Chief Officer and Bosun. • On arrival at final port of shift, complete all arrival duties. • Report to Chief Officer. • Leave vessel when authorised to do so. The successful candidate will have previous experience within a similar role, with good communication skills and attention to detail.
